Walking God’s Way in God’s World with Jen Wilkin
Today we get to talk about walking in wisdom with our friend Jen Wilkin. We explore the difference between wisdom and knowledge, how to grow in wisdom, and how to approach the book of Proverbs. We hope this conversation points you to the true wisdom of God and spurs you to ask him for wisdom as you open up his Word.
NOTES & QUOTES
“There is more good news than just our justification. There is gospel good news in our sanctification.”
“Wisdom is learning to walk God's way in God's world. In other words, God made this world and so he determines the rules by which this world functions. And what wisdom does is show you how to walk according to his way.”
“Proverbs are not promises, they’re principles.”
“God is a poet and we are not looking often enough for the poetic way that the scriptures are written.”
“The best way to develop a sense of how to read the Bible is to read the Bible a lot.”
“What I think wisdom does, like when you start putting it into practice and it doesn't generate the peppy outcome that you were hoping for, or it doesn't fix the relationship even though you did the right thing, is you learn to long for the day when we will once again walk in wisdom and perfectly obey God's law while you're here. And I think that's the prayer of your kingdom come, your will be done.”
