Celebrating God’s Creativity with Trillia Newbell
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, I chatted with Trillia Newbell about celebrating diversity! Trillia and I talked about everything from how we can practically celebrate people of all backgrounds, to how Jesus himself loved people who were different than him. She said, “When I think of Jesus I think of a man who died for sinners, who died for those who could never repay him, and who related to those who others would shun. His example is ours. It’s what we should aim to live like and live for.” Trillia encourages us to simply love our neighbors and to seek to know them through something as simple as inviting them to share a meal around our tables. Ultimately, we discussed God’s plan to glorify himself by rescuing a people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. I know you’ll have so many takeaways from this conversation. Trillia Newbell is the author of the kids’ book God’s Very Good Idea, as well as Enjoy: Finding the Freedom to Delight Daily in God’s Good Gifts (2016), Fear and Faith: Finding the Peace Your Heart Craves (2015) and United: Captured by God’s Vision for Diversity (2014). Her writings on issues of faith, family, and diversity have been published in the Knoxville News-Sentinel, Desiring God, True Woman, Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, and more. She has spoken at numerous conferences, churches, women’s retreats, colleges and seminaries, including True Woman, The Gospel Coalition Women’s conference, Southeastern Theological Seminary, and more. She currently is the Director of Community Outreach for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission for the Southern Baptist Convention.

Military Life with Megan Arnold
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, I chatted with my friend, Megan Arnold. Megan and I talked about things we can all relate to, like the challenges we face navigating a transient lifestyle, dealing with unmet expectations, and pursuing oneness with our spouses who have very demanding schedules. Whether you are part of a military family or if you’re like I was about eight years ago and don’t know much about the military at all, I think you’ll find this conversation encourages you in your walk with Jesus.

Praying Together with Megan Hill
In this episode, we chatted with Megan Hill about praying together. We talked about everything from the role of the Trinity in our prayer lives to why it’s important that we gather together with other believers to pray. Megan said, “When we pray with other people, these prayers are all gathered together before the throne and then God collects these prayers and then pours them out over the earth to accomplish his purposes.” After listening to this episode, you will definitely want to link arms with other believers to pray together however you can in the season you’re in!

Worship with Edith Moyana
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, I chatted with Edith Moyana about worship. Edith serves in her local church’s children’s ministry and on the praise team. She is married to Reuben and is a full-time homeschooling mother to two beautiful girls, Joy and Jaida. I had a really chaotic week and you’ll be able to hear that in the middle of the episode I was totally overwhelmed by God’s kindness to me as he ministered to me through Edith in the confines of my very own closet. I pray he does the same for you as you listen to this episode!

Confession and Conflict with PaToya Hall
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, we chatted with my friend PaToya Hall about confession and conflict. We covered it all, from how the Gospel enables us to walk in confession and conflict without fear, to our own personal mistakes in confrontation. PaToya shared how God brought her from being fearful of conflict to approaching others in love because of her confidence in God. We really think you will find this episode to be a helpful tool in the relationships you're building within your local church, with family, and with friends for the glory of God.

Prayer with Valerie Woerner
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, I chatted with Valerie Woerner of Val Marie Paper Company. We talked about everything from the purpose of prayer to how it works in conjunction with the other spiritual disciples. I confessed that prayer is one of the most humbling aspects of my walk with the Lord, and I walked away encouraged to take advantage of the real privilege we have to grow in intimacy with God through prayer. I am so thankful that Christ came so that we can be in true fellowship with God by the power of the Holy Spirit. What a gift to get to converse with him because of what Christ has done for us!

Sharing Life and the Gospel with Cierra Bragan
On this episode of the Journeywomen podcast I chatted with my real-life friend Cierra Bragan about sharing life and the Gospel both locally and cross-culturally. We talked about everything from feeling the nervous jitters before we share our faith, to fighting off feelings of inadequacy and resting in who we know Christ to be and what he is capable of. Throughout the entire interview Cierra beautifully articulates the Gospel and encourages us to rest IN the Gospel at all times. She said, “What he requires he supplies, and he’s done that in Jesus. That’s just beautiful. It’s not Jesus plus, or Jesus in addition to my good works, or Jesus in addition to my Sunday School attendance. It is Christ alone.”
